“We’re in trouble.” That was all it took for him to fly out of bed. Liv was packing her weapons into her duffel bag before she went to the safe in the study.

“You’ve got an escape plan?” Vick asked Liv as she began stuffing cash and passports into her bag.

Liv looked up at Vick, mildly irritated by his ridiculous question. “Of course I have an escape plan. It’s in the bathroom.”

Vick followed her into the bathroom after she packed everything in her bag. Liv stepped on the toilet and shoved hard at the ceiling. A part of the ceiling came loose to reveal a hatch which she open and gestured for Vick to climb in.

“Hurry up!” Liv hissed at him as he struggled into the small space.

“Why the hell is the hole so damn small?” Liv was about to reply him when she heard someone trying to pick the lock. She used all the strength she could muster to shove Vick into the small space and followed in behind him, but not before she made sure that she closed the hatch so that no one could find them.

Vick followed the passageway that the hatch hid and Liv followed behind him until they hit a dead end. Vick tried to remove the small lock on the other end but nothing worked. Liv got impatient and took out her gun, her ears were ringing by the time she blew the lock till thy kingdom come.

Dusting off imaginary dust off herself, she proceeded to the other side of the building and made her way out. All this time with Vick trailing behind her, making sure that no one followed behind them. Lacing her fingers with his, Liv led him a few blocks down until they found her car. Vick went behind the wheel and drove off.

An hour and a half later, they found themselves at the airport. Parking the car at some abandoned corner and went in. Liv started to dig into her bags, looking for something. Cursing when she could not find what she was looking for and took a seat at one of the many available in the airport.

“Where are we going?” It seemed like a more logical question for Vick to ask since he knew that she was looking for their passports.

“Nepal.” Came Liv’s short reply, letting out a sigh of relief when she finally found what she was looking for. She was about to go book tickets when her phone started ringing. When did she bring it along?

“Who is it?” Vick asked as she picked up the phone. Liv covered the receiver and answered him. “Dean.”

Vick watched as she continued her conversation with their colleague. Something was wring and he knew it. Liv’s body stiffened and her jaw clenched. It was as if Liv wanted to hit someone but could not. By the time the call ended, she looked like she was about to kill everyone in the airport.

“Dean wants us on another mission.” Liv told him before he could ask. “He wants us to protect the son of the senator we killed last night.”
